Staying a Step Ahead

This paper sets out to redefine the role of people tracking in the context of the current retail environment and looks at the opportunities for augmenting information on consumer traffic with complementary sources of data to provide a more comprehensive and accurate view of retail performance.

It draws on independent research carried out by AMR Research Inc in both the UK and USA into how retailers access, use and integrate footfall data into their organisations. This research is augmented with analysis from Experian FootFall on the changing demands of consumers and the role of people counting in measuring retail performance. Most importantly it illustrates the need for organisations to realise the value of people counting and to adopt a more flexible approach to the use of footfall as a measure of performance in the face of new market conditions.
